Why are we outsourcing?
Our services are in great demand and firm growth has pushed our capacity to the limits. The economic and political fall-out due to the lingering effects of a global pandemic have fueled constant change in tax legislation and law. To maintain the highest levels of service and commitment to our clients, we are outsourcing the data entry of the tax preparation process. Outsourcing will shorten the turn-around time for data entry during the busiest time of the filing season. This will allow us to focus on the quality of each return and increase efficiency.
What are we outsourcing?
We are only outsourcing the original data entry component of the individual income tax returns.
Who is Xpitax?
Xpitax is a U.S. based company founded by a CPA who wanted to grow his practice and maintain a balanced quality of life. Xpitax is a division of Wolters-Kluwer. Wolters-Kluwer has provided our firm with tax software for more than 30 years. They are the industry standard. Xpitax has been providing staffing for accounting firms of all sizes for more than 20 years.
Xpitax will provide Badger, Sumrall & Co with two tax preparers and one tax reviewer. These team members work exclusively for Badger, Sumrall & Co.
Who is responsible for my tax return?
Badger, Sumrall & Co is ultimately responsible for the preparation and filing of your income tax returns as we have always been. Our internal processes are nearly unchanged. We will review and sign your returns.
How does this process work?
Our process is virtually unchanged. We will collect your tax information, scan it into our processing software, and assign the return to a data entry preparer. The assignee will be an internal preparer or outsourced preparer depending on volume and complexity of the return. When data entry is complete, our tax manager will review the return and communicate questions and concerns with the client. Our tax manager is a Badger, Sumrall & Co employee. This process will never be outsourced. When all questions have been answered the return goes to a firm partner for final review. Once approved, you will receive a PDF copy for review along with the electronic filing release forms that can be signed digitally. No part of that process has changed.
Will I be contacted by the Xpitax team?
No, you will never by contacted by the Xpitax team. All communication will continue to flow through Bader, Sumrall & Co staff.
Is my data secure?
Yes! Your data is stored on a data server in the U.S. and is only accessible in “read only” mode by the preparer. Read more about data security in the link below.
